Games and Activities
Children and adults will be active with geocache locating, roaming pirates, a scavenger hunt, and an assortment of food. Branford House Mansion will be open to take you back in time; research and education exhibits will take you into the future; and all is located throughout the rolling lawns and breezy coastal setting of this shoreline university campus.
There will be local non-profit organizations showing the work and products of what they do in and for the community. A variety of health care, animal rescue, research, and other organizations have been invited to show displays and demonstrations of what they offer. You will learn about the important work people in our community provide to us all. Faculty and student research and education will be showcased with marine science touch tanks, interactive teaching demonstrations, research vessel tours and equipment demonstrations, posters, faculty flash talks, tours of the nursing hospital simulation lab, and more. Come and experience first-hand how learning happens at one of the top 20 national public research universities in the nation.

Avery Point is excited to host Marine Science, Maritime, and local history guest speakers, including:
Former Groton Mayor, and Historian James Streeter, who will discuss the Coast Guard's history at Avery Point
James and Patricia Kremer, two highly esteemed researchers in the field of Marine Sciences, who were at Avery Point since the inception of the Marine Science Program, and will discuss the program's beginnings, growth, and impact to the campus, Southeast Connecticut, UConn, and beyond.
